The HSO always welcomes new members to support its ambitious plans for the future. We are always interested to hear from string players of high standard (minimum grade 8), and also from wind, brass and percussion players.
We would specifically welcome a timpani player and a trombone player.
The Orchestra meets weekly on Thursdays from 7.30pm to 10.00pm, from September to June. Rehearsals are mainly taken by the Musical Director, Ian Brown.
Most rehearsals are at Henley College, but see attached schedule for dates and venues of individual rehearsals.
If you play an orchestral instrument to a high standard and would be interested in joining the Orchestra, please email: "results @ camwells.co.uk" with "HenleySO" in the subject header.
Would you like the best seats at reduced prices?
Then become a Friend of the Orchestra. We have about 170 Friends who support us both financially and by attending our concerts regularly. The benefits of becoming a Friend include:
- Priority booking for the best seats
- Reserved tickets at reduced prices
- Notification by post of forthcoming concerts and other activities
- Free attendance at the annual Open Evening, an evening of music, cheese, wine and conversation. This will take place this season on Thursday 7 May 2009 at 7.45pm.
Friends of the Orchestra subscribe an amount of their choice, but there is a minimum annual fee of £10 per person to cover administration costs.

Business Friends
In 1996 we launched our Business Friends Scheme which is proving to be extremely well supported by the local business community.
In exchange for publicity, concert tickets, and the availability of entertainment facilities at our concerts, the scheme enables firms to help us in a number of ways, from small contributions (£50 - £100) to full sponsorship of concerts and other activities.
Membership of the scheme also includes free attendance at our annual Open Evening, an evening of music, cheese, wine and conversation. This will take place at the start of this season on Thursday 7 May 2009 at 7.45pm.
A brochure explaining the scheme is available from Helen Fraser on 07770 430387, or by email to "results @ camwells.co.uk" with "HenleySO" in the subject header.
