The 2008/09 season provides another fine feast of popular classical music.

Our season started on Sunday 9th November at the new hall at Highdown School, Emmer Green. The programme included Brahms's First Symphony, and Mozart's Bassoon Concerto played by Meyrick Alexander.

Christ Church in central Henley was the venue again for our annual Christmas concert on Sunday 14th December. A diverse programme of orchestral favourites included works by Rossini, Borodin, Tchaikovsky and the Organ Concerto by Poulenc, played by Ian Tindale, interspersed with commentary from our conductor, Ian Brown. There was also be a short concert beforehand at 4.30pm for young children featuring Doctor Knickerbocker.

We return to the Reading Hexagon for our eleventh annual concert on Sunday 15th March 2009.
Min-Jin Kym is playing Brahms's Violin Concerto. This will be followed by Rachmaninov's Second Symphony. The concert starts with Wagner's overture "Die Meistersinger".

We will return to Shiplake College for our summer concert on the evening of Sunday 21st June. The programme includes Borodin and Kodaly, and finishes with Ravel's orchestration of Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition. There will also be Langford's trumpet concerto played by Torbjorn Hultmark. Gates open at 6.30 for picnics on the lawns.

We look forward to seeing you at our concerts. Please see the bookings page for details.
